Fall Share Begins Oct. 31!🎃
Frosty mornings followed by short-sleeved afternoons — what a crazy beautiful way to head into Fall Share! The crew is making the most of it, harvesting Arugula, Celery Root, Radishes and pulling the last pie pumpkins out of the field for storage. When things cool off again tonight, I hope to warm up with a bowl of Pumpkin Chili!
In case you were wondering, we will hold our normal hours on Tuesday (Halloween) 12-7pm, but if you're busy trick-or-treating, you can always come on Wednesday instead between 10am-5pm, no special arrangements necessary. Here are a few other helpful reminders that you'll want to tuck into your back pocket as we head into cooler shorter days at the farm.
New Hours & Fewer Markets in November
With the main season now behind us, the farm is open Tuesdays from 12-7pm and Wednesdays from 10-5. Our Pierce County Markets have closed for the season; however, Mark is still loading up for the U-District Market in Seattle on Saturdays for a couple more weeks (9am-2pm).
Our Fall CSA Begins this week!
Pickup for the Fall CSA takes place at the farm on Tuesdays (2-7pm) and Wednesdays (10am-5pm). The routine is nearly identical to the summer, minus the weekends. Bring whatever reusable bags, cartons or containers you’d like. Please note that with the shorter days and extra bit of ‘help’ from Daylight Savings Time, it is dark in the field by the late afternoon. If you have your heart set on picking extras with your share, plan on coming as early as you can during the pickup time—or bring a headlamp!
I know that some of you have forgotten to sign up by the week one Sunday deadline. Not to worry—we still have a few spots remaining. Salad Shares & Egg Shares are sold out for new subscribers, but if you're continuing from Summer into Fall, I may be able to help. You can register online to begin picking up next week, drop me an email OR check in with me at the store this week to get signed up.
Best,
Katie
